Review rules applied and rule offers

You can see exactly which lines a rule filled in before they post, accept the rules Qetaab offers from your own history, and pause a rule that misbehaves.

Who this is for
Owner, admin or bookkeeper.
Before you start
  • At least one bank rule, or a few months of categorised history.
Availability
Available in the hosted app and the local build.

Steps

  1. In Bank Import, open the Rules applied tab. It lists only the waiting lines a rule has filled in, with the count in the tab.
  2. Read the category on each row. Change it on the row if the rule was wrong, then Add the rows you agree with.
  3. Under Remember these for next month, Qetaab offers a rule for each description you have categorised the same way repeatedly. Choose Make the rule to create it with review mode on.
  4. On the Rules card, Pause stops a rule without deleting it; Resume brings it back. Edit changes its pattern, direction, amounts or category.
  5. A rule set to Add automatically posts matching lines as they are imported; a refusal banner explains any it could not post (for example inside a locked period).

What you should see

The Rules applied tab empties as you add rows; the Rules card shows each rule’s mode and hits.

If it goes wrong

If No waiting transactions currently have a rule applied, either no rule matched this file or the lines were already added. If an automatic rule posted the wrong account, Pause it, then Undo the affected rows from Categorized.
