Move postings to the right account

Steps

1. Open Accountant Tools (under Books) and choose Reclassify. Under Find what is on the wrong account choose the Account and the From and To dates.
2. Tick the lines to move, then choose Reclassify selected….
3. Choose Move to (the right account) and answer Why?, then choose Reclassify. Qetaab posts a moving entry; the original lines are not edited.
4. Open the General Ledger for either account to see the move, or the report you started from to confirm the figure.
5. One entry at a time: in the General Ledger, choose an entry to open it, change the account on the line that is wrong, answer Why is it moving? and choose Move it. The amounts cannot change.

What you should see

The destination account shows the moved amount, the source account no longer does, and the audit trail shows both the original and the move.

If it goes wrong

If Reclassify selected… stays disabled, no line is ticked. A refusal naming a period lock means the move is dated inside the lock; date it after the lock.
