Reports

Consolidate your businesses

Choose a business group, review marked intercompany balances and export its consolidated statements.

Who this is for
An owner or accountant with several businesses in one Qetaab account.
Before you start
  • At least two commonly owned businesses or wholly owned subsidiaries in one Qetaab account, with one home currency and the same fiscal year start.
  • Consolidation is on every plan, Free included. A viewer can read and export but cannot edit groups or marks.
Availability
Available on every plan, Free included, for commonly owned businesses or wholly owned subsidiaries in one Qetaab account. Businesses must share one currency and fiscal year start. Minority interests, goodwill and fair-value adjustments are outside its scope.

Steps

  1. Open Consolidation beside Portfolio. Choose New group, enter Group name and use Add a business for each member. First, Last and Remove set the statement order; choose Save group. Edit group changes that list, and Delete group removes only the configuration.
  2. Open Chart of Accounts in each business and edit the dedicated intercompany account. Select This account is a balance or transaction with another of my businesses, then choose Other business. Save account. Retained earnings cannot be marked. Clearing the checkbox clears the mark without changing entries.
  3. For a loan, mark the lender's loan receivable with the borrower and the borrower's loan payable with the lender. Mark only dedicated intercompany accounts: the whole marked account is eliminated, including every amount on it.
  4. For a management fee, mark the provider's management-fee income and the other business's corresponding expense with each other. For rent, mark the rent income and expense in the same way; if one book shows 1,000 and the other 900, review the signed income difference rather than assuming the amounts agree.
  5. For an investment in a wholly owned subsidiary, mark the parent's investment account with the subsidiary and the subsidiary's contributed-capital account with the parent. Keep retained earnings unmarked. Goodwill, fair-value adjustments and minority interests are outside this report.
  6. If an account is marked with a business outside the selected group, its balance stays in the statements. Find it under Outside the group — not eliminated. Add the counterparty to the group only when it belongs in the statements.
  7. Choose As of for balances and From and To for income. The same explicit dates apply to every group member. Choose Accrual or Cash on this screen; the same basis applies to all three statements and their exports. Different currencies or fiscal year starts refuse the reports and show the reason without figures.
  8. Read Intercompany matching first: the two businesses, each marked account, the signed amount and the balance sheet or income difference. Debit amounts are positive and credits negative in this matching list. Intercompany difference, not reconciled remains visible on the statements; correct the source books through the normal correction process, then rerun the report.
  9. A difference from an earlier year stays on the balance sheet until the source books are corrected, even after the year is closed. Closing one business before another does not itself create a difference.
  10. Review trial balance, balance sheet and income statement, including each business column, Eliminations and Consolidated. Names differ means matching account codes and classifications have different names. Choose XLSX, CSV or PDF beside a statement or matching list. PDFs use account-by-account business detail so names and amounts remain readable.

What you should see

The group statements show the chosen business order, dates, elimination amounts and any unreconciled differences. Eliminations are derived for the report and never posted.

If it goes wrong

Read every refusal or group error. Check the group members, dates, currencies and fiscal year starts. A difference is a review item, not an automatic correction; no figure is silently forced to match.
